WITHIN Meditation Cofounder Hannah Knapp will offer a guided meditation as part of the fair.

Hannah has been meditating since 2012, when she dove in head-first with a 10-day Vipassana retreat. It was during that retreat that she realized she was ready for the adventure of pregnancy and parenting. Coming out of that experience, she knew she needed a community to practice with: there was just nothing like meditating with other people. Her passion for sharing the power of mindfulness has led her to launch (and lead) group meditations wherever she’s worked, and to start WITHIN Meditation.

Through mindfulness, she’s developed a deep resilience, focus, and capacity to love that she draws on every day, both as the mom of two children and as a start-up founder. She’s delighted to be leading meditation sessions in our online studio and in companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and across the country, while building an amazing team of teachers at WITHIN.

WITHIN Meditation teacher Shundo David Haye will be at the Fair to share about the classes we offer at WITHIN, and other programs he provides.

Shundo is an ordained Zen priest. He came from England in 2000 to live at the San Francisco Zen Center, and spent fifteen years in residential training, including five years of monastic practice at Tassajara. He helped found and run the successful Young Urban Zen practice group at the Zen Center. Although he loves the robes and the formal rituals, he is interested in reaching people who will never set foot inside a Zen temple. He has taught at tech companies, schools and colleges, yoga studios, retreat centers, and the county jail. He loves being outside, especially on a bike, and leads regular mindful hikes around San Francisco, as well as a weekly outdoor meditation.

Mukunda Studio aims to empower the movers of human kindness. We join the movement for greater equity and broader awareness of well-being. We offer 3 main areas for taking action: Yoga and Well-being, Local Business Partnerships, and Studio Rentals for Wellness Leaders.

We believe everyone can be the messengers of change and renewal, which starts from personal awareness and community organization.

Mukunda is a Sanskrit word that means, “giver of liberation.” We are meant to thrive and support one another on the journey. Join us!

TendWell Collective envisions a world where everyone has the resources, access, community, and agency that they need to tend to their own wellness. We offer Values-rooted wellness programs to support the whole human experience.

We believe everybody deserves wellness.

And yet, too many folks think “wellness”, be it yoga, meditation, movement, or bodywork, is not for them. You may not have enough money or time (to even search out a class or teacher). Maybe you weren’t given appropriate, spacious options for your body or mind - to tend to body size, age, injuries, conditions, or disabilities. You may have had a harmful or uncomfortable experience. Or maybe you didn’t have access to teachers with shared identities or lived experiences as you.

TendWell Collective acknowledges that the needs of specific groups have not been centered or prioritized in the Wellness world, including BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color); LGBTQIA (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual); bodies of all sizes and shapes; and folks with disabilities or limited mobility.

At TendWell, we’re curious about all of these complicated and interconnected reasons and how we can do better. We offer a public class Schedule with sliding scale pricing. We offer free or sliding scale priced Affinity Support Groups (for those who share an identity or lived experience), Community events, and Service opportunities. Working with TendWell Collective pays forward to our vision for more equitable wellness and providing access to wellness to marginalized populations.
