That’s why we created #MindfulStart, a meditation course designed to help you launch your meditation practice, and keep it going.

Led by WITHIN teacher Devon Pipars, you’ll learn how to find release from stress and anxiety, and connect with the stillness you already have inside you. Devon's insights and guidance will help you create and sustain a healthy, meaningful meditation practice.

#MindfulStart isn’t just for beginners!  If you already have an established meditation practice, but are wanting to go deeper, Devon is the one to guide you there. After four years on her own journey of self-discovery with an Enlightened Master in India, she’s now passionate about helping people like you integrate awareness with living in the modern world.

Your enrollment in the #MindfulStart 5-Week Meditation Course includes:

  • A series of 5 classes, Tuesdays 6:45-7:45pm, October 22nd-November 19th. These classes are designed build on each other, deepening and strengthening your meditation practice over time. Each class includes: a check-in about how your practice is going; guided meditation; insight from Devon on that week's theme; and Q&A. 

  • A half-day meditation retreat on Sunday November 10th, 1-4pm. After several weeks of classes, this retreat will help you take what you're learning to the next level. Held at WITHIN, the half-day includes: periods of guided and silent meditation; insight from Devon; and Q&A.

  • Daily inspiration in your inbox. We'll send you ideas to help you practice on your own in-between classes, and build on what you're learning.

  • Access to guided meditations by WITHIN teachers that you can listen to anywhere, or use to jumpstart your silent meditation practice at home.

  • Your personal #MindfulStart journal, to help you reflect on what you're learning along the way.

At the end of the course, you'll know exactly what you need to do to keep up your new habit, and have a deeper connection to the stillness within you.

The #MindfulStart Meditation Course is designed to inspire and deepen your meditation practice.

Besides giving practical advice on how to meditate, Devon will guide you through a journey anchored in four meaningful themes:

  • Awareness: discover how your mind operates and what you can do to shift your thought patterns, decreasing anxiety and creating peacefulness.

  • Love: create space in your mind and heart for love to take root and flourish, for yourself and for the people in your life.

  • Gratitude: discover and enjoy the gifts life is giving you in each moment, consciously choosing how you see the world around you.

  • Acceptance: meet your life fully, embracing both the good and the bad, and discover the ease that comes with it.

You can tap into our teachers’ collective wisdom anytime - even when you're not in class - by listening to recorded meditations made by Devon and other teachers at WITHIN. 

You'll get practical tips on building your meditation practice.

In addition to all the support you'll get from Devon, we'll send you daily inspiration in your inbox with practical ideas to bring more mindfulness into your life and develop your practice.

You'll set goals and hold yourself accountable to them.

Using your own personal #MindfulStart Journal, you'll set specific goals for the course. Devon, and the other students in the course, will help you stick with it.

You'll establish a real meditation habit, and know how to keep it going.

At the end of the course, you'll know exactly what you need to do to keep up your new habit. We'll help you make a plan for post-course success.

#MindfulStart FAQs

Where will I go for classes?
Classes take place at WITHIN Meditation, in the heart of the financial district (110 Sutter St at Montgomery).

When will I come to a class?
The course is held 6:45-7:45pm on five Tuesdays, October 22nd through November 19th. It also includes a half-day meditation retreat on Sunday November 10th, 1-4pm.

How often will I need to come to class?
The classes in this course will build on each other, so when you sign up, you’re committing to coming to all six of them, plus the half-day retreat on November 10th.

What happens in class?
You can expect thirty minutes of guided mindfulness meditation, plus conversation and connection.

Who teaches the classes?
Devon Pipars will teach the five classes in the course, and lead the half-day retreat.

Do I need any special clothes or equipment?
None! One of our favorite things about meditation is that you don't need anything special to do it. Just come as you are.

Can I start and stop during the course?
When you sign up, you're committed from October 22nd through November 19th.

I tend to jump into things, and then not finish them. How can I be sure I'll make it through the course?

The best part about doing this course is the accountability and inspiration we give you to keep you on-track. When you set your goals for the course, we'll hold you accountable to sticking with it. Devon will check in with you and the other students each class, and we'll send you daily inspiration in your inbox.

What happens if I sign up, and then realize it's not right for me? Do you give refunds?
We want you to feel totally comfortable dipping your toes into the meditation waters with us. If you join #MindfulStart, and decide any time during first week that it's not for you, we'll give you a full refund. You must request the refund by 11:59pm PT on October 28th for us to honor it.
