How the #MindfulStart Meditation Challenge works:
You'll build your practice with us over the course of four weeks.
From January 21st through February 15th, you'll come to class as often as you like, to practice meditating with other students, and get guidance from our teachers.
You'll choose when you come to class.
Classes take place at WITHIN Meditation, in the heart of the financial district, 5 days a week. With 21 class times available, you're sure to find classes that fit your schedule, and teachers who suit your style.
You'll be inspired and guided by our teachers.
Besides giving practical advice on how to meditate, our teachers will guide you and the #MindfulStart community through a 4-week journey anchored in four meaningful themes:
Week 1: Awareness: discover how your mind operates and what you can do to shift your thought patterns, decreasing anxiety and creating peacefulness.
Week 2: Love: create space in your mind and heart for love to take root and flourish, for yourself and for the people in your life.
Week 3: Gratitude: discover and enjoy the gifts life is giving you in each moment, consciously choosing how you see the world around you.
Week 4: Acceptance: meet your life fully, embracing both the good and the bad, and discover the ease that comes with it.
You can tap into their wisdom anytime - even when you're not in class - by listening to recorded meditations from our teachers.
You'll get practical tips on building your meditation practice.
In addition to all the support you'll get from our teachers, we'll send you daily inspiration in your inbox with practical ideas to bring more mindfulness into your life and build your practice.
You'll set goals and hold yourself accountable to them.
Using a habit-tracking app, and your own personal #MindfulStart Journal, you'll set specific goals for how often and how long you want to meditate during the challenge. You'll get an accountability buddy from the #MindfulStart community to help you stick with it.
You'll establish a real meditation habit, and know how to keep it going.
At the end of the four weeks, you'll know exactly what you need to do to keep up your new habit. We'll help you make a plan for post-challenge success.

Who Should Do It: Perfect for beginners. Get all the support and guidance you need from our teachers by coming to class as often as you want. Being in class daily (or almost daily!) is the best way to ensure you learn what you need to learn, and get in the practice time you need, to build your new habit.
What You Get: 8-pack of meditation classes (2x per week), plus all the #MindfulStart bonuses and kick-off workshop.
Who Should Do It: A great option if your schedule is too packed to come daily. You’ll still get the benefit of multiple classes each week, to anchor and build your practice. Whether you’re a beginner or have an established practice, this package will help you balance your crazy work schedule with your meditation challenge.
What You Get: 4-pack of meditation classes (1x per week), plus all the #MindfulStart bonuses and kick-off workshop.
Who Should Do It: Great if you already have experience meditating on your own. Anchor your personal practice with a weekly class, so you can get the guidance and support you need to reinvigorate your time on the cushion at home. Not recommended for first-time meditators.
Whichever package you choose, we want you to feel great about jumping in. If you decide anytime before the end of the first week of the challenge that it isn’t for you, we’ll give you a full refund.
Because we also want you to take your participation in the challenge seriously, you must request the refund by 11:59pm PT on January 27th for us to honor it.

Where will I go for classes?
Classes take place at WITHIN Meditation, in the heart of the financial district (110 Sutter St at Montgomery). With 21 class times available, you're sure to find classes that fit your schedule, and teachers who suit your style.
What times can I come to a class?
As part of #MindfulStart, you can come to any class on our schedule. We have classes before, during, and after work. Check out the full schedule and register for the classes you want on our website, right here.
How often will I need to come to class?
You'll come as often as you like throughout the four weeks of the challenge, based on the package you select: once a week; twice a week; or more. Try challenging yourself to come every day!
What happens in class?
You can expect twenty minutes of guided mindfulness meditation, plus conversation and connection. If you come in the morning or at midday, you can count on being in and out in 30 minutes, most of it guided meditation. If you come to our afternoon or evening classes (which are 45 minutes), there's more time to ask your teacher questions and get to know other students.
Who teaches the classes?
Our teachers come from a variety of backgrounds, and we each have our own style. We all really enjoy getting new meditators started with their practice; no question is too basic!
Do I need any special clothes or equipment?
None! One of our favorite things about meditation is that you don't need anything special to do it. Just come as you are.
Can I start and stop during the challenge?
It takes 28 days (in a row!) to start a habit. If we let you start and stop during the four weeks, it would defeat the whole purpose of doing the challenge! When you sign up, you're committed from January 21st through February 15th.
I tend to jump into things, and then not finish them. How can I be sure I'll make it through the four weeks?
The best part about doing this challenge is the accountability and inspiration we give you to keep you on-track. When you set your goals for the challenge, we'll hold you accountable to sticking with it. You'll have an accountability buddy from the #MindfulStart community, your teachers will check in with you in class, and we'll send you daily inspiration in your inbox.
What happens if I sign up, and then realize it's not right for me? Do you give refunds?
We want you to feel totally comfortable dipping your toes into the meditation waters with us. If you join #MindfulStart, and decide any time during first week that it's not for you, we'll give you a full refund. You must request the refund by 11:59pm PT on January 27th for us to honor it.
